What CouchLoot stores
Without an account, favorites, recently watched games, preview mode, and interface size are stored locally in your browser. If you choose to sign in, CouchLoot stores those choices in its database so they can follow you between devices.
Google and Steam accounts
Google sign-in provides a stable account identifier and, when available, your verified email address and display name. Steam sign-in provides your public Steam identifier. If you choose Steam library sync, CouchLoot stores the game names, Steam app identifiers, playtime totals, and last-played dates Steam returns. CouchLoot never receives or stores your Google or Steam password.
Connecting Steam to a Google account is optional. If the Steam profile already belongs to another CouchLoot account, CouchLoot asks for confirmation before combining favorites and recent activity.
External services
Game covers, trailers, and gameplay can be provided by Steam, YouTube, and their delivery services. Opening embedded media lets that service receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address, browser details, and referring page under its own privacy policy.
Hosting logs
The hosting provider may process short-lived technical logs needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. CouchLoot uses a secure session cookie to keep signed-in visitors connected. CouchLoot does not build advertising profiles or sell personal information.
